I'm feeling really confused about how to update my resume. I have over a year and a half of experience in Cloud, mostly focused on DevOps. I've built CI/CD pipelines, Dockerized web apps and APIs, and migrated containers from Azure to GKE using Helm. I also created CloudFormation stacks and Terraform templates, plus automation scripts and CLI apps in Python. My team even achieved the AWS DevOps competency.
Despite this experience, I'm not getting any responses from companies, and I'm unsure if it's due to the tough job market or if there's something wrong with my resume. I've seen various example resumes online, but I don't know how accurate they are. I'm looking for tips or advice on what works for you when updating or creating your resumes. Any insights would be greatly appreciated!

You’re definitely not alone in feeling this way! It's challenging out there right now, even for those of us with lots more experience. The best practice is to tailor your resume to each job application. Use keywords from the job description to help your resume get past the Applicant Tracking System (ATS). It can be time-consuming but worth it.
Also, networking plays a huge role! Having contacts within a company can really boost your chances. The more connections you make, the better. Don’t lose hope; you’ve got valuable skills that potential employers will notice eventually. It’s often just a numbers game, so keep applying!
Make sure to list any tools and technologies you’ve used, such as VSCode or Notepad — they might seem small, but they show your familiarity with essential development environments.
And keep your LinkedIn up to date! Many recruiters check there, and if it’s comprehensive, it can really reflect well on you as a candidate.
I always keep my LinkedIn updated and often refer back to it when working on my resume. If companies aren’t biting, it might just mean they’re not the right fit for you, but that’s their loss because you have a solid skill set!
Exactly! Networking can be a game changer. I’ve had better luck getting interviews through referrals than just applying cold.
