How do you personalize your newly deployed Windows 11 devices?

I'm curious about the small tweaks and personalizations you might add when deploying new Windows 11 devices. For example, I tend to move the Start menu to the left, disable the taskbar buttons, and turn off the search and weather features to keep things clean. What do you all do to personalize these fresh setups?

I don't really personalize much because we've automated everything with Intune and Autopilot. It's just easier that way!

But isn't there a way to add your own custom flair to the Intune setup?

SystemWizard52 -

Yeah, you can customize some settings through Intune, though!

Most of my deployments don’t get a lot of personal tweaks. I just try to keep it as stock as possible so users can customize based on their preferences. If they want to keep or change settings, that's on them!

Word! Why force my preferences on them when they can set it up how they like?

I like to clean up the Start menu, but only the pinned items. It's nice when users only see what they'll actually use frequently.

Yeah, but just be careful about removing too much; sometimes people need things they don’t use daily.

I keep it simple by doing what you mentioned: shifting the Start menu to the left and turning off the annoying default features. Also, I make sure to show file extensions because it's more secure that way!

Totally agree on showing file extensions! It's a security must for me too.

I also separate windows into distinct tasks; sometimes that small change can save you a lot of hassle!

Honestly, I don't get why people hide the search bar. Just hit Start and type! But I get it... users often go to the search bar out of habit even if it’s unnecessary.

Exactly! If people only knew how easy it could be. But you can't blame them; they just follow what they know.

Right? Plus, if we give them the chance to learn shortcuts, they'll appreciate it!
