Hey everyone! I have a USB stick that I'm using for Kubuntu, and I'm curious about how quickly it might wear out from regular use. Is using a USB stick for running and installing Kubuntu a good idea in the first place? Appreciate any insights you can share!

You’ll definitely want to use the live .ISO on the USB. Booting from it and installing Kubuntu onto your main drive is the way to go. It's a great setup since you can keep things separate and work on multiple machines with the same OS. Just be aware that frequent writes can wear out USB sticks over time, especially if you're storing a lot of data or making a lot of changes. But generally, for normal use, it should hold up pretty well.
Are you planning to run Kubuntu directly from the USB or just use it to install? That makes a big difference in how you'll treat the USB stick!
I meant to install it, sorry for not being clear!
What I did was use two USB drives: one to run the live ISO and the other to install Kubuntu. I can switch between my PC and laptop, but I'm wondering how that impacts the lifespan of the USB.
