How Many Fans Are Too Many for My First PC Build?

Hey everyone! I just completed my first PC build and I need some advice on airflow and fan placement. I managed to fit everything into my case, but I'm a bit concerned about how well it's ventilated since my GPU and AIO radiator are quite close together. I initially planned to mount the radiator on top, but it didn't fit due to a heatsink on my motherboard. Here's my current setup: [https://imgur.com/a/fZ0KwZE](https://imgur.com/a/fZ0KwZE). The radiator and GPU's heatsink are really close, but they aren't touching. The AIO's hoses aren't under pressure from the GPU since I added some support nearby to keep everything in place. I have some Noctua fans from a previous build that I used because I wasn't sure if I had too many fans. I've monitored the temperatures and everything seems mostly okay, but I'm concerned about the VRAM on my 9070 xt reaching around 82°C to 85°C under heavy load. I'm wondering if it's okay to have that fan under the GPU, or if it's potentially harmful in the long term. Any tips or advice would be greatly appreciated, and please go easy on me since this is my first build!

Your VRAM temperatures sound normal, so if everything else is running smoothly, you're probably in good shape. Every PC setup is unique, so it's hard to say definitively how changes will affect your temps; you'll have to experiment a bit. If your current temps are safe, then you don't need to worry too much!

Thanks! I’ll keep an eye on it this weekend. I’m mostly worried about that fan under the GPU—could it do any damage or force the GPU's fans to work harder?

It looks like your configuration is optimized for CPU cooling since the AIO radiator is your main intake, but this can lead to warmer air circulating around your GPU. I would suggest switching the radiator to the top and using the fans to exhaust hot air out, while keeping your Noctua fans under the GPU to help with cooling. That airflow setup might improve your GPU temps!

I wish I could, but the Liquid Freezer III won't fit up there!

Honestly, 82-85°C for your VRAM is nothing to stress about. I used to run a 3080 that hit 102-103°C during gaming! Everything seems fine with your setup, so keep going!
