How Many Fans Do I Need for My New PC Build?

I'm in the process of building a new computer and I'm trying to figure out the right number of fans to use. I'm planning to use the Lian Li 011D Mini V2 case. Currently, I'm considering installing three intake fans and three exhaust fans, along with a 360mm water cooler at the top. Is this a good setup or should I adjust the number of fans?

It's generally a good idea to have more intake fans than exhaust fans. Most setups work well with a simple 2-in-1-out configuration. For heavier builds, like one with multiple GPUs running intense tasks, you might need more fans, but for an average setup, having three intake and one exhaust should be plenty.

For optimal airflow, try sticking to two intake and one exhaust, unless your GPU really needs extra cooling. If you want a more visually appealing setup, using all five intake fans can help achieve that sleek look in a glass box case!

As long as your AIO cooler pulls air in, you're on the right track. The idea is to maintain positive air pressure in the case. While three intake and three exhaust fans might seem like overkill, if you want a quieter setup, using larger fans that can run slower is a good move. Just be careful not to go overboard with fans!

The Lian Li 011D Mini V2 can fit up to nine 120mm fans, so you've got plenty of room for your setup. With six fans and your AIO, you should be fine. Just remember, cases with glass panels often have airflow issues, so keep that in mind when placing the fans.
