I recently decided to go with the 9070xt after getting feedback on a previous post about choosing between it and the 7800xt. A lot of people talked about the benefits of FSR4, but I'm still a bit confused. Can someone explain exactly what FSR4 does and how much it really affects graphics quality and frame rates in games? I mostly enjoy survival and horror games on Steam, which can be pretty demanding, though I don't typically play games like Cyberpunk.

FSR4 is basically AMD's latest technology that enhances image quality by upscaling. It boosts frame rates by rendering at a lower resolution first, then upscaling it for display. So if you're playing at 4K, it might actually be rendered at 1440p before the upscaling kicks in. While it might not give as high an FPS boost as its predecessor FSR3, the image quality is significantly better thanks to improved algorithms. Just keep in mind that it's always best to play games in their native resolution if you can.

Does that mean FSR4 can actually make some games look better than native rendering?
