I'm looking for some advice on pricing for creating a tax depreciation calculator specifically for Australian property investments. The project involves around ten inputs such as marginal tax rates, construction costs, house sizes, and includes an API integration to automatically fill in these inputs. I imagine it would be embedded on a legacy WordPress site that I haven't worked on before. I'm estimating it would take about 20 hours of work. Does that sound like too much or too little? What do you think?

That sounds manageable with Fluent Forms Pro, especially if the API you're working with is good. This tool has calculation support, so it can help you streamline the process.
I think a timeframe of about 20 to 25 hours sounds reasonable for this type of project. I typically charge between $30 and $40 per hour, which would total around $600 to $1000 for complete setup, including API autofill and email notifications. Keep in mind that a straightforward build is typically desirable.
There are a few variables you haven’t clarified that make it hard to give an exact answer. Are the calculations already defined? Are you bidding for this job, or is it something you plan to sell? The API integration details are also important—are you creating an API, or using a third-party one? Also, how will you handle the emailing? Given these unknowns, I'd be surprised if you can deliver this flawlessly in just 20 hours. You may only get a prototype ready in that time frame, but a solid product may take longer.
I haven’t tried Fluent Forms Pro yet, but I plan to check it out. I usually create my forms from scratch, so maybe there’s an easier way to build this!
