How should I handle my GPU power cable in my new build?

I'm building my first PC in a while and I've hit a snag with the GPU power cable. My power supply unit (PSU) came with a 600W cable that has a right angle connector, but there's not enough space to plug it in because of my CPU cooler, which can only be mounted one way due to its design. I'm feeling a bit stuck and want to figure out the best way to proceed. Here are my thoughts:

1. Could I modify the right angle connector to make it straight by removing some plastic?
2. Is it possible to use the straight end of the cable instead?
3. Should I consider ordering different brackets to rotate the CPU cooler for better clearance?

I'm also open to any other suggestions. By the way, the GPU I have is a 5070, and it came with a 12-pin splitter for two 8-pin connections, so I wonder if that could be used in any way. I've attached some pictures for reference.

I wouldn't recommend using that adapter since there have been some reports of them causing overheating issues. If you can plug in the straight end, that seems like the simplest fix. Have you checked your PSU to see if they included another cable that’s straight? Also, what case and cooler are you using that’s causing the clearance issue?

I'm using a Zalman S2 TG case and a ThermalRight Assassin X 120 Refined SE cooler. Do you think I can just swap the ends of a PSU cable without any issues?
