I've got an HP All-in-One model 22-b013w that I scraped, and it still has the previous owner's Windows 10 installation. I'm looking to replace it with Linux Mint but I can't log into Windows. I want to change the boot order in the BIOS to boot from my USB drive first. However, when I try to access the BIOS menu by continually hitting the escape key, it either takes me to a black screen or doesn't open the BIOS at all, even when I press F10. When I boot from my Linux thumb drive, it just brings up a Linux prompt, not the installation screen I'm used to. Am I missing something in my setup, or could the BIOS be corrupted? Should I consider reflashing it?

Have you tried posting a screenshot of what appears before the black screen? Usually, if you're hitting the right key on boot, you should see the BIOS settings menu. There's a chance you might be hitting the wrong key or timing it off. Let’s figure this out!

Hitting escape does bring up a boot menu. But when I try F10 for BIOS settings, I just get a black screen. It's frustrating!
