I recently installed Windows 11 on my Samsung Galaxy Book 4, and I noticed that BitLocker is available, but it won't let me turn it on or complete the encryption process. I'm looking for a solution to enable BitLocker without losing any of my data. So far, I've verified that TPM is enabled in the BIOS, Windows is fully updated, and I'm using an SSD drive. Does anyone have experience with this issue? Any tips for getting BitLocker to work safely would be really appreciated!

It looks like you're running into a common issue. If your Windows 11 version is Home, that's likely the problem. Home supports 'Device Encryption' only, and you can't enable full BitLocker unless you're on Windows 11 Pro. The BitLocker option being visible is just a quirk. If you want full BitLocker, consider upgrading to Pro.
If you do have Pro, make sure:
- Secure Boot is set to ON
- Your drive is GPT (BitLocker doesn’t work with MBR)
- The TPM is cleared in BIOS so Windows can recreate the keys
- You have the latest firmware and drivers from Samsung installed.
Sounds frustrating! If you're on Windows 11 Home, unfortunately, you've hit the limitation of that version. You won’t be able to activate BitLocker. It's best to back up your important files and consider upgrading to Pro if you need the full BitLocker feature. Otherwise, device encryption might suffice for your needs.
