I'm looking to build my first gaming PC and I want to make sure that I won't run into any bottlenecks or performance issues. Since I'm on a budget, I can't afford to go all out, but I want to get the best performance possible. I've fixed PCs before, but I've never built one from scratch. I'm also planning to use Ubuntu Linux, so I'm curious if there are any compatibility issues with my hardware choices.
Here's what I'm thinking of getting:
- Motherboard: Gigabyte B550M DS3H (rev. 1.7) AM4
- CPU: AMD 5700X
- GPU: AMD 9060XT
- RAM: Ripjaws 2x16
- SSD: Western Digital Blue SN510 2TB
- Cooling: Arctic Cooler 36 Black
- PSU: Corsair CX650 650W 80 PLUS
- Case: MSI MAG FORGE M100R
Anyone know if this setup will have issues, or how I can check before making the purchase? Thanks!

I'd suggest getting a stronger PSU. I have a similar setup and I found my system runs smoother with an 850W unit. It just gives you peace of mind, especially during gaming sessions.
People tend to really overstate bottlenecks in a gaming setup. Your components look alright together. Just ensure everything is compatible, and you should be all set! If you go new, definitely consider AM5, but if AM4 is your choice, maybe check out some used options to save a bit. Also, double-check your PSU needs; a 650W might be on the lower end for this build!
Thanks for the tip! I’m definitely looking into the PSU.
