I'm planning to build a PC using an MSI MAG B650 Tomahawk WiFi motherboard that I purchased last year, before the 9800X3D CPU was released. I haven't used the motherboard yet, and I'm coming from an Intel setup, so I don't have an older Ryzen CPU available for a BIOS update. What steps should I take to build the PC? Can I still proceed with the build and update the BIOS later?

I’d recommend that you just go ahead and build your PC. As long as you don’t touch anything too advanced, it should power on fine. Remember to update the BIOS afterward, though!
Good news! Your motherboard has a Flash BIOS button on the back I/O. You can update the BIOS without even needing a CPU in there. Just check the manual for the steps, or look up a quick tutorial on YouTube about MSI motherboards.
Can I still install the CPU while I do the BIOS update?

So I can still build the PC and it will turn on, and then I just need to update the BIOS after, right? That's my main concern.
