I'm looking to update a few printers on our Windows print server. My question is, if I change the print driver for each printer, will the endpoint Windows 11 machines automatically use the new driver? Or will users need to remap their printers after the change?

Make sure to deploy the new drivers to the endpoints before changing anything on the server. This approach often minimizes confusion and helps ensure compatibility right away.
From my experience, it's best to delete the old print queue and recreate it with the new driver while keeping the same settings. Whether the clients will auto-download the new driver depends on your PrintNightmare configuration settings. It's a good idea to check that first!
A straightforward method is to install the new driver, stop sharing the printer object, change to the new driver, and then re-share it. That should work without causing much disruption.
I usually pre-install the required drivers on the endpoints using scripts, especially since I mainly deal with HP and Xerox printers. That way, I can avoid issues when the server-side changes are made. It makes the whole process smoother!
