How to Choose a PSU for My GPU Upgrade?

I'm looking to upgrade my GPU to a 1660 Super along with the power supply unit (PSU) in my existing computer, which is currently pretty basic. It's a Dell Optiplex 7040 case, and I suspect it has the standard stock PSU. I'm planning to go for a 650W semi-modular PSU from Corsair or a similar brand. What should I consider for the PSU upgrade, especially since it seems like I might need some adapters for the Dell motherboard? Any advice or recommendations would be appreciated!

Since you're leaning towards using a standard ATX PSU, make sure you think about where to mount it. If your prebuilt case doesn’t accommodate the standard size, you might need to do some modifications. For the adapters, online marketplaces usually have what you need, just look for ones that specify compatibility with your board!

First off, check if you do have a Dell motherboard because those often require proprietary PSUs. If you want to use a standard ATX PSU, you might need some adapters to make it fit properly. Just keep in mind the size, as some prebuilt systems have unique dimensions for their PSUs.
