How to Clone SATA SSD to NVME and Boot Issues?

Hey everyone! I'm working on cloning my 128GB SATA drive that has Windows installed onto a new 2TB NVME drive. I've been hitting some roadblocks and I'm not sure if it's a problem with my laptop or the cloning process itself. My laptop is an Asus Vivobook, and according to its specs, it should support booting from both SATA and NVME drives. Here's the kicker: I noticed a difference in the file system size; my SATA drive shows 36/260 MB while the NVME copy shows 260/260 MB. I've already set the NVME as the priority boot disk in the BIOS, but it still won't start Windows. Do I need to tweak any BIOS settings, or is it possible that my laptop is only looking for the operating system on the SATA drive? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

I can totally understand wanting to keep your existing setup. If your SATA drive is already GPT and you're using UEFI, it should be able to boot from the NVME without any issues. Just double-check those BIOS settings to ensure the NVME drive is prioritized correctly. Sometimes, it's just a matter of making sure everything is set up right in the BIOS.

First off, make sure to check whether your SATA drive is using MBR or GPT partition style. If it’s MBR, you will need to convert it to GPT before cloning. Alternatively, you might find it easier to just do a fresh Windows install on the NVME drive via USB—this way, you avoid all the complications with cloning. Good luck!
