How to Connect Multiple Monitors to My Laptop?

I'm looking for help with setting up dual monitors for my HP laptop. I want to extend my display so I can have three separate screens instead of just mirroring the same image. I can already connect one monitor using an HDMI cable without any issues, but I'm struggling to find a compatible HDMI splitter to add a second monitor. The options I've seen seem to only support mirroring. Can someone suggest how I can get my laptop to recognize a second monitor and extend the display? Thanks!

What model of HP laptop do you have? Depending on the specific model, you might be able to use video over USB-C or a docking station to set up three monitors. That's often a good solution if your laptop can handle it.

If you've got a VGA output on your laptop, you can use a VGA to HDMI converter as another option to get an extra output.

Just a heads up: an HDMI splitter only mirrors your display. To extend your desktop across multiple monitors, you need each monitor connected to a different video output on your laptop. Some newer laptops allow video output through USB-C with an adapter, but not all of them do. If yours doesn’t support multiple outputs natively, you could look into DisplayLink technology. It's a bit different as it creates a virtual display via USB, but be aware it may have some lag.

You might want to try a USB to dual HDMI adapter. These types of adapters usually support extended displays, which should solve your problem! Just make sure to check if your laptop supports this functionality.
