How to Connect My USB-C Monitor to My Laptop?

I recently purchased a second monitor for my laptop and I'm trying to figure out how to connect it through the USB-C port. Here's what I have: a Acer Swift 3 (model sf314-57) that features a Thunderbolt 3 port, and a Samsung S3 monitor. I've tried using a 3-in-1 USB-C, HDMI, and USB-A hub from Amkette and a Zebronics Type C to HDMI cable, but neither of them worked, and I'm unable to find clear information on compatibility. I've noticed that many reviews mention these devices work nicely with MacBooks. Can anyone guide me on how to get this setup functioning?

Actually, I think your laptop's manual might be outdated. I have the same model and my specs confirm that the USB Type-C port supports USB 3.1 Gen 2 and DisplayPort over USB-C, meaning you should be able to connect a monitor. Make sure the cable you’re using is compatible and check if there are any settings on your laptop that might need to be adjusted for external display recognition.

It seems like there might be some confusion regarding the USB-C capabilities of your laptop. Based on various sources, your laptop likely doesn’t support Thunderbolt video output, despite having a Thunderbolt 3 port. The USB-C connection may only support USB 3.1. This is hinted at in the manual you provided, which mentions reduced functionality for non-standard devices. Your best bet might be to either look for DisplayLink devices or stick with HDMI for solid connectivity.
