Hey everyone! I hope you can help me out. I work from home and have a Dell Latitude 5540 which is currently connected to one monitor via an HDMI cable. I'm looking to add a second monitor so I can use them for different tasks, rather than just mirroring the display. My laptop has a USB-C port. If I use a USB-C to HDMI adapter to connect a new monitor, will that allow me to operate both monitors independently? I'm really not tech-savvy, so any advice would be super appreciated! Thanks a bunch!

You should be good to go! If your laptop has a USB-C port, using a USB-C to HDMI adapter will let you connect the second monitor and use it separately from the first. Just check that the USB-C port supports video output, which it likely does since it's a newer laptop. If it has a lightning bolt icon, it's probably a Thunderbolt port, which is even better!
If you're thinking of connecting two monitors, you might want to consider getting a docking station. It makes connections simpler and can offer more ports if you ever need them in the future. However, if you just need extra HDMI for your second monitor, a USB-C to HDMI cable is a cost-effective option!
I don't really need a docking station since I just want that extra HDMI for the monitor. Thanks for confirming the cable option!
