How to Create a Custom Windows 10 Pro ISO for Optimal Performance?

I'm trying to create a custom Windows 10 Pro ISO, specifically version 22H2, for my new computer build. My goal is to remove unnecessary components like Xbox features, telemetry, and some security layers to maximize speed and stability for CAD work and LLM experimentation. I'm primarily using AutoCAD 2025, Solidworks 2018, Actual Multiple Monitors, and Microsoft Office 2010, along with a bunch of legacy software. I've tried Windows 11 and really dislike it, so I'm committed to Windows 10 without all the added fluff. It would also be great if I could disable Windows Update entirely since I prefer to manage updates myself. Has anyone successfully tackled this before?

Disabling Windows Update can be risky, especially with how updates can fix critical issues. But if you're set on managing them yourself, make sure you have a solid rollback plan for when things go wrong.

I get the concern, but I've been doing this since Windows 10 launched, and I've managed just fine. Just looking for tips on the custom ISO side!

Have you thought about trying a Linux distro instead? They let you customize the setup a lot easier, especially with post-install scripts for optimizing your system. Just something to consider if you're open to it!

I get that, but none of the programs I use are supported on Linux, so that's a no-go for me.
