How to Deal with a USB Shortcut Virus?

I recently got a USB drive to transfer files from my old laptop to my new one, but I encountered an issue where I couldn't copy files to the USB. At first, I thought the files were being deleted, but then I discovered there's a virus that hides files on the drive. I formatted the USB and tried using command prompt commands to fix it on my old laptop. When I plugged the USB into my new laptop after doing some commands, the files showed up. It seems like it's my new laptop that might have the virus. What should I do next?

It sounds like your new laptop might have some malware if it keeps hiding files on your USB. Make sure you run a full antivirus scan on your laptop to check for any hidden threats. You could also try using some malware removal tools specifically designed for USB viruses. Also, avoid using that USB on your new laptop until you're sure it's clean!

The command you mentioned might be the attrib command, which can reveal hidden files on USB drives. If you're getting files hidden, it's possible a shortcut virus is affecting the USB. You should definitely scan both the USB and your new laptop with a reliable antivirus. And keep your operating system updated to avoid these issues!
