I recently bought a Palit GTX 1080 Ti from someone who mentioned having issues with artifacts. He said installing the 566.36 driver fixed the problem for him. I installed that driver, but I'm still experiencing issues. Sometimes I see artifacts on the BIOS screen, which prevents me from booting into Windows. When I do manage to boot, everything is fine at first, but under stress, my display gets filled with black squares. What can I do about this?

If you purchased the GPU from a source that offers buyer protection, it might be worth considering a return, especially since it sounds like the GPU could be failing
It sounds like you might be facing a hardware issue. Given the age of the GPU, it's possible that some VRAM modules are failing. Unfortunately, unless you're skilled with hardware repairs, this isn't something you can easily fix yourself.
I tried underclocking my VRAM by about 500MHz, and surprisingly, it managed to run the stress test fine for a while.
Honestly, with aging hardware like that, returning it might be the best play. It's not worth dealing with constant issues.

Yeah, I made sure to buy it from a place that had buyer protection, so returning it is an option for me.
