How to Fix a 4th Generation iPod That Won’t Charge?

I recently found my old 4th generation iPod, but there's an issue—it's showing that it's charging, but it really isn't. I've already tried a few different cables, and I'd love to get this working again instead of just throwing it out. Any advice would be appreciated!

It's very possible the battery is dead. Just a heads up, the hard drive might be problematic too, but try the battery replacement first.

Definitely try resetting the iPod and using a different charger if you haven't already. Worst case, you might need to replace the battery, but that could be your last resort.

If it's still displaying and clicking, it might not be completely shot. Just keep that in mind. Maybe it's a simple fix rather than a full replacement.

It sounds like the battery might be toast if you've already tried several cables. You can check out this guide for replacing the battery: https://www.ifixit.com/Guide/iPod+4th+Generation+or+Photo+Battery+Replacement/393. If that doesn't work, you might want to consider other repairs as well.
