How to Fix SSD Not Detected When Installing Windows?

I recently bought a new PC and can only access the BIOS. However, I'm having trouble downloading Windows because my SSD drive isn't being detected. I tried using a USB stick to install Windows, but it hasn't worked. The motherboard is a B550 X V2, and I'm stuck. Can anyone help me figure out what's going wrong?

It sounds like your SSD might not be formatted, which is why it's showing as having 0 B available. Normally, when you select the drive for installation, it should show the total size even if it's unallocated. If it's completely unrecognized like that, you might need to check if the SSD is properly connected or if there's a hardware issue with it.

Have you checked the connections internally? Make sure everything is seated properly. I know it's a hassle, but sometimes hardware issues like loose connections or faulty SSDs can cause these problems, especially with new builds.

Which type of SSD do you have? Is it NVMe or SATA? If it's NVMe, you could try reseating it—just take it out and put it back in. If it's a SATA SSD, make sure you're connecting it to the right ports. Sometimes there are different colored SATA ports; one might be linked to a controller that requires additional drivers for Windows installation. Try switching the connection to a different color if that's the case.
