Hey everyone! I'm trying to free up some memory on my PC after uninstalling a game that was about 80GB. Even though the game is uninstalled and the files don't seem to exist anymore, my PC is still showing that I'm short on space by 80GB. Does anyone know how to fix this issue?

Did you remember to delete the setup file that came with the game? If not, that could be taking up space too. Also, running the built-in Disk Cleanup tool, particularly with the option to remove system files, could free up some extra space from old Windows updates. It’s a pretty safe method!
You might want to check for leftover files from the game. Try downloading "Everything" from Voidtools; it’s an amazing file search tool for NTFS drives. It could help you find any stray files that might be lingering after the uninstall.
When you delete files, they often stay on your hard drive until new data is written over them. Sometimes, Windows doesn't recognize the freed space right away. A quick reboot might clear things up!
Actually, that's a bit misleading—deleted files are marked as free space immediately, but maybe you're thinking of SSDs and how TRIM works, or the Recycle Bin? Just clearing that up!
You can also right-click your C drive in File Explorer, go to Properties, and use the Disk Tools option to clean up space. Make sure to empty your trash and clear your cache as well. If you're still running low on space, consider adding another drive—most PCs can handle it!
Don't forget to refresh your download platform! If you had the install UI open when you uninstalled, sometimes it doesn’t update immediately. A quick refresh could do the trick!
I only uninstalled the game and didn't think about that. I’ll give the Disk Cleanup a try, thanks!
