I'm dealing with a situation where a C-suite member decided they want to integrate AI into our sales process without consulting IT first. I just received an email from one of the directors asking for access to our email account for automation and inquiring about any IT considerations before moving forward. They provided a proposed system created by an AI that outlines costs and functionalities, but it raises a lot of questions for me, particularly since we already have a CRM that's not included in their plan. To top it off, some of the recommendations contradict each other, leaving me confused about the feasibility of this integration. I pushed back a bit, but I'm caught between thinking this could work out or that it's a complete mess. What do you think? Is this a reasonable request, or is it just out of the realm of practicality?

I think it’s definitely worth examining what they proposed, but I wouldn't just let them run with this. It could lead to confusion and wasted resources. Maybe highlight the importance of having a solid plan that considers our existing infrastructure before rolling something new out?
Honestly, it sounds like a classic case of management making decisions without fully understanding the tech. I'd suggest setting up a meeting with them to discuss how we can actually leverage our current systems instead of jumping into this AI solution that might not even integrate correctly. Keep them focused on what we already have.
That was my initial thought too! But you know how it is when higher-ups get excited about a shiny new tool; sometimes they just want to see it happen regardless of what we have in place.
Your feelings are valid! It's totally okay to push back when something doesn't seem right. Maybe you could present a clearer framework on what we can achieve with our current tools first? That way, if they still want to pursue this AI thing, they'll have a better understanding of how it compares.
Exactly! Getting them to see the bigger picture of our existing capabilities might help them reconsider before diving into a new solution.

Right? It’s all about finding that balance. Let's push for a proper assessment before they start using tools that may not fit with what we currently do.
