How to Identify My PC’s Bottleneck: GPU or CPU?

I'm a casual gamer who enjoys upgrading my mid to low-end PCs with budget-friendly components. I'm currently content with 60fps at 1080p, but I'm wondering whether I should upgrade my GPU or if my CPU and motherboard also need to be replaced. I'm hoping that a GPU upgrade will suffice, but I'm concerned that my CPU might be a bottleneck. Here are my current specs:
- GPU: GFX 1080 TI
- CPU: AMD Ryzen 5 5600 (3.5 GHz, 35MB cache)
- Motherboard: ASUS ROG Strix B550-F
- RAM: 32 GB DDR4
- Storage: Kingston KC3000 M.2 NVMe SSD (1TB, Gen 4)
- Power Supply: Corsair RM850e (850W)

You should definitely consider upgrading your GPU! Something like a 9060 XT or a 5070 would be a solid choice depending on your budget. That should give you a nice performance boost for your gaming without needing to change out the CPU right away.

I think a GPU upgrade is a great move for you! However, keep an eye on your CPU to make sure it doesn’t hold you back. Something like the 9060XT or 5070 could work well for your performance.

Upgrading the GPU is the way to go! With your current setup, you could just swap it out for a 5060 ti with 16GB. It should work well without major issues for your gaming needs.
