How to Keep My RTX 4080 Cooler During Gameplay?

I'm looking for tips on keeping my RTX 4080 cooler while playing on schedule 1 ultra settings, especially with options like SSAO and God rays turned on. I've noticed my GPU temperature is in the low 70s most of the time and peaks at around 82°C. In other games, it usually stays in the 50s, with a max around 60°C. Given that the game isn't graphically intense, should my 4080 really be hitting those high temps?

If you're concerned about the heat, you might consider increasing your fan speeds or even undervolting your GPU. Another straightforward way to manage temps is capping your framerate to a lower setting—maybe around 160 FPS instead of letting it max out at 180. Just keep in mind that every game has different demands on your GPU, so fluctuations in temps can be expected.

Yeah, I do have my FPS limit set at 180, and this game seems to push my GPU to 100%. I guess that explains the higher temps!

First off, 80°C is not a major concern for your GPU. Modern graphics cards like the 4080 are designed to handle those temps without issue. If you're seeing higher temps in certain games, it often means those games are utilizing your GPU's power to the max. You could check if your framerate is capped to help manage temps better. Just make sure your fans are running well, too!

That's reassuring! I've typically experienced lower temps with my previous cards, but I guess the 4080 is different. It makes sense that powerful cards might naturally run warmer.
