How to Manage Overheating Issues with Intel 14900K in Cinebench?

I recently purchased an Intel 14900K, and I'm facing some serious overheating issues during Cinebench, where the temperatures reach between 95 and 100 degrees Celsius. I've already tried using a contact frame and replaced my CPU cooler, but the problem still persists. Should I consider RMAing the chip at this point?

Honestly, that temperature is expected with the 14900K unless you manually set some power limits. On default settings, especially with gaming motherboards, it tends to pull a ton of power which can make cooling quite challenging.

Right? It’s like 253W at default limits. Intel really needs to fix this!

Overheating with the 14900K is pretty common, especially under stress tests like Cinebench. You might want to disable power boost or use Intel's XTU software to tweak the settings and limit the chip's power draw. Depending on your motherboard, there could be options in the BIOS as well. Just keep in mind, it’s not just about stopping thermal throttling - it's all about how much you're willing to invest in keeping those temps in check. If you're not hitting those high temps during regular use, it may not be as big of a deal as it seems.

So you're saying this only happens under stress testing? I thought it shouldn’t go over 85 degrees in Cinebench without undervolting.
