I recently got my first iPad (A16 | 11th gen) but forgot to buy an Apple Pencil at the time. Luckily, a friend gave me theirs, but I'm having trouble getting it to pair with my device. I've read I need a specific adapter, which I got today, but I'm still facing issues. I'm not sure what's wrong since I'm new to using an iPad and Pencil. I'm using the original cable that came with the iPad and a USB-C to Apple Pencil adapter (ZML). Is there something specific I might be missing to make these two connect?

Check if your Apple Pencil has a port at the top. If it hasn't been used in a while, try charging it with a regular phone charger for about an hour. Then, give pairing another shot!
Honestly, the Apple Pencil can be pricey, and there are ways to use the iPad without it if you just need basic functionality. But if you're serious about art, it's gonna be worth figuring this out!
