How to Power RGB Fans with a SATA Connection?

I recently switched my sister's pre-built PC to a new case that has built-in RGB fans. The fans only have a 15-pin male SATA connection for power. The power supply unit is a Powerspec PC 650W, which has a 6-pin connection, but it didn't come with any cables since it was pre-built. I've been looking for a female SATA to 6-pin adapter, but I can only find one on Amazon with bad reviews, and most options are for 8-pin connectors. Is there a better way to connect these fans or a place where I can find the right cable?

It sounds like your new case has a SATA-powered fan splitter. You might want to disconnect the fans from that splitter and connect them directly to the motherboard instead. You may need to pick up a cheap fan splitter that doesn't use a SATA connection, though. It can really simplify your setup!

That makes sense! Do you have any specific splitter recommendations? I don’t want to skimp on quality since it’s her first PC.
