How to Prepare for Oracle’s DevOps Interview and Scripting Test?

I have an upcoming technical interview for a DevOps role at Oracle's new health division. There's going to be a scripting test, and it could be either in Python or PowerShell. I'm leaning towards Python since I've worked with it more recently. I consider myself an intermediate Python user, and while I can get tasks done, I don't have much memorized. Unfortunately, I didn't use Python in my last DevOps job, so I'm not familiar with its applications in that field.

I'm looking for suggestions on how to prepare. The interviewer didn't give me much direction beyond just "Python," and I'm uncertain about what to expect in the test. I've tried some challenges on Hackerrank, but I'm worried that what I've tackled so far might not reflect the actual test expectations. I also have a mix of programming languages in my head, which makes me anxious about syntax issues.

Any help would be greatly appreciated!

For Oracle's scripting assessments, focus more on practical tasks rather than complex algorithms. They're likely to test you on log parsing, file manipulation, API interactions, and handling JSON/YAML data. Since you mentioned your intermediate Python skills, that's probably sufficient if you can tackle real-world problems instead of memorizing obscure methods. I recommend brushing up on fundamentals like file I/O, string handling, and basic error handling because those pop up often in DevOps roles. Keep in mind that most of the work is about finding the right documentation quickly, so make sure you practice writing clean, straightforward code that handles tasks efficiently!

Thanks for the advice! Focusing on the fundamentals makes sense, and I'll definitely try to memorize them as needed since I usually just pick things up per project.
