How to Recover a Surface Pro 4 That Won’t Boot?

I'm trying to assist a friend whose Surface Pro 4 isn't booting up. When it powers on, it says there's no bootable operating system. I've created a recovery USB with all the necessary files and the right format, but the Surface isn't recognizing it. I'm holding down the volume button while turning it on, but I'm unsure when to release it because all I see is the Surface logo without any additional loading indicators. Can anyone provide guidance on what to do next? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

If the logo doesn’t show up and you’re just stuck on the Surface screen, try creating the recovery USB again using a different method or a tool. Occasionally, the files might not be recognized properly, so double-check that everything is set correctly. Also, make sure the USB is plugged in before the device is powered on.

You should keep holding the volume down button until the Surface logo appears. Once you see the logo, you can release it and then see if it boots from the USB. Sometimes it takes a little longer, so just be patient! Let me know if that helps.
