I recently built a new PC with a Define R7 chassis, featuring 3 Fractal Design X2 GP-14 fans, a Ryzen 9900X processor, an RTX 4080 graphics card, and an Arctic Liquid Freezer 3 Pro 360 cooler. Unfortunately, I'm finding the fan noise to be quite loud, and it's making me question whether I made the right choices. I wonder if I overdid it with the large chassis and cooler. The RTX 4080 could have fit in my old Phanteks Eclipse P300 case, although the cooler wouldn't have worked. Now I'm stuck wondering if I could have opted for a quieter cooling solution, like a 280mm cooler with a smaller chassis.
The main issue is the noise level, which I suspect is mostly from the cooler. I've read that the fans can be adjusted to reduce noise; should I tweak them in the BIOS or through software in Windows 11? I'm considering using HWInfo to monitor CPU temperatures. Is it advisable to run some benchmarks while adjusting the fan speeds to keep an eye on the temperatures? My previous setup had a BeQuiet PureRock cooler with a 6500K CPU and an RTX 2060 GPU, and it was much quieter. So I'm weighing my options: either adjust the current fans or look for a new cooler. Any recommendations?

You might want to try changing the fans on the liquid cooler if that's an option. It could help to switch over to quieter ones or add a couple of case fans to improve airflow without increasing noise. I personally use a software called FanControl; it lets me set custom fan curves based on temperatures. I watched a great tutorial from JayzTwoCents that really helped me out with this. My setup stays relatively quiet most of the time, but ramps up when under load.

That's a good idea! I checked the Fractal fans, and it seems like I can't fit any more than the three that came with the case. I was thinking about trying Noctua NF A14 fans, but I've been told they're not much better than what I already have, so I might just return them.
