I need some help with my laptop. Initially, I was having trouble with the brightness slider not working, so I tried adjusting the power settings and updating my graphics driver based on a tutorial I found. Unfortunately, after these attempts, my laptop became noticeably slower and is now stuck at a resolution of 1920x1080. I use this laptop for gaming, but now I can't change the resolution and everything is lagging, even video playback. I've checked for updates and nothing seems to work. What can I do to fix this?

It sounds like you might need to rollback the driver you installed. Can you provide more details about what laptop you have and exactly what you updated? Also, what exactly was wrong with your brightness to begin with? It's a bit tricky to help without more info.
Have you checked your display settings to see if you can change the resolution there? Also, consider whether you've disabled your dedicated GPU, which might be impacting performance. It could be worth looking into those settings.
I did check the display settings, but for a while, I could only see one resolution after the update. I didn't disable anything at first but later managed to get a couple more options back. Performance is still sluggish though.

I think the laptop is an HP model due to the logo. I noticed the brightness issue after an auto-update, and the buttons weren't working. I tried updating the display adapter but that led to the bigger problems with resolution and performance.
