How to Rename Photos Immediately on iOS After Taking Them?

I'm an MSP engineer working at a new client's site and I'm trying to document everything with photographs. Right now, I find myself taking a bunch of photos, transferring them to my laptop, and then renaming each one individually, which is quite tedious. Is there any iOS app that lets me rename a picture immediately after I take it? I want to avoid switching between the Camera and File apps constantly to rename each photo.

If you're using OneDrive, there's a feature where you can click the + icon, select 'scan', and then take a picture. It prompts you to rename it before uploading. It might also allow direct uploads to SharePoint, which can streamline your workflow a bit.

I usually open a Teams session with myself and title each cabinet or room while snapping away. Later, back at my desk, I create a folder structure and drag the photos in. It's a bit of work but helps keep things organized. You can rename them later too, which makes it easier to manage!

That sounds like a smart approach!

You can use Power Rename in the Powertools suite once they're on your laptop for bulk renaming. It's really convenient for managing a lot of images at once.

Irfanview is another great tool for Windows users—it lets you batch rename and even convert formats if needed.

Have you tried Microsoft Lens? I use it on Android but it works on iOS too. It prompts you to enter a filename after taking a picture, so you can name them right away! You can take multiple pictures for one document if needed.
