How to Replace CachyOS in a Dual Boot Setup with Another Distro?

I've got a dual boot system with Windows 11 and CachyOS, but I'm having trouble with Remote Desktop on CachyOS because of Wayland. I'd like to replace CachyOS with a different Linux distribution while keeping Windows 11. Since I'm pretty new to this, I'm unsure how to properly overwrite CachyOS during the installation of a new distro. Any advice on how to do this?

What remote desktop software are you currently using? It might be simpler to fix that issue instead of reinstalling everything. Sometimes a little troubleshooting can save a lot of hassle.

I'm using xrdp for Remote Desktop.

I recommend trying out Nobara as it handles Remote Desktop (like Remmina) really well, and overall, it provides a smooth experience. Nobara takes care of many issues with its built-in System Updater. Just a tip, avoid using 'dnf update' on Nobara. Also, just a heads up, there might be some compatibility issues with Nvidia cards, but I'm running AMD and haven't faced any problems. Before you go for a full replacement, have you checked the settings in CachyOS? There might be an option or repository for enabling Remote Desktop. If you decide to replace it, most distros let you select the partition for installation, format it, and do a fresh install. Just be careful to back up your files because you might need to reinstall them, unless the new installation allows you to save your home directory. Plus, keep in mind that changing distros can mess up your GRUB, so you may need to fix that afterwards.

To replace CachyOS, start by burning the ISO of the new distro to a USB drive. During the installation, you'll need to manually set up the partitions. Just make sure to wipe the CachyOS partition(s) and then allocate them for the new installation.
