How to Reset a Probook 450 G6 When It Won’t Boot from USB?

I have a Probook 450 G6 and I need to completely reset it. The issue is that I can't get it to boot from USB, even though I've tried multiple USBs that I know work. The hard drive is empty since there's no OS installed. I've already reflashed the BIOS, restored factory defaults, and disabled secure boot. It was working fine until I attempted to reimage it for a new user. Any advice on what I can do?

First off, double-check that your BIOS settings are set correctly for USB booting. Have you ever booted from USB on this machine before? Also, if you can see the USB listed in the BIOS, make sure it's at the top of the boot priority list.

Yes, it's listed in the boot menu, but when I select the USB, the screen goes black and just returns to the boot menu.

Make sure that the USB drive is formatted correctly and has the installation media properly set up. Sometimes, a strange issue with the USB drive can cause it not to read, so trying a few different USB drives might help too.

If you're in a bind, try taking the SSD out and connecting it to another PC. Start the OS installation there, and when it prompts you to remove the USB and reboot, shut down and put the SSD back into your Probook. That might work better than trying to boot directly from USB.
