I just got a new CyberPowerPC running Windows 11 and ran into some issues while setting it up. I needed to enter or create a Windows account to proceed, and after trying to skip that step unsuccessfully, I ended up creating an account. Now, it prompts me for a PIN every time I boot up, which I find annoying. If I reset Windows, will I lose all my information and have to re-enter that account? I recently discovered a command that might let me log in locally instead, which is what I prefer. Should I reset Windows or do a complete reinstall? I haven't installed anything on it yet since I just got it a few hours ago.

Be cautious with the factory reset option; it's known to have issues, and a clean install is usually more reliable. Resetting could lead to data loss, so think it through carefully.
The PIN at boot isn't directly related to whether you use a local or Microsoft account. You can check under Settings > Accounts > Sign-in options to adjust your sign-in settings. If you're looking to use a local account instead, try the F10 trick during installation, but keep your Microsoft account details handy just in case you need them later.
Thanks for the heads-up! I wasn’t aware the built-in reset was problematic. I guess I should have done my homework before jumping in.
