How to Retain What I Learn in React.js and Laravel?

Hey everyone! I'm diving into JavaScript, React.js, and Laravel, but I'm hitting a wall when it comes to actually using what I've learned. I can grasp the ideas while studying or watching tutorials, but when I try to apply them in real projects or exercises, everything seems to slip away. It's frustrating because I feel like I'm putting in the effort, but I often forget how to use the concepts down the line. I'd love to know from those who've been in a similar boat — what strategies helped you really lock down those concepts? How did you make the jump from theory to practical application? Any tips, effective study methods, or resources would be greatly appreciated!

You might be trying to tackle too much at once. Instead of jumping into both React and Laravel right away, maybe just focus on one. For instance, start with React, then narrow it down to state management or even just the useState hook. Master that before trying to build something larger. Also, watch out for 'tutorial hell' — pick one solid resource and stick with it before moving on to the next thing!

Thanks a lot! You're right — I’ve been jumping between too many things. I’ll now focus on one concept at a time, starting with useState. Also, I realize I'm stuck in tutorial hell, so I’ll build more and watch less. Really appreciate your advice!

It's totally normal to forget things! I've found that it usually takes me going over concepts several times — like 4 or 5 times — before they really stick with me. Just keep at it, and don't be too hard on yourself.
