How to Run Windows-Only Apps on a Mac?

I'm a junior developer working at a firm that relies on several Windows-only applications for various internal tasks, including some legacy software and database tools that don't have Mac versions. Currently, I'm using an M4 Mac and I'm looking for the best way to run these Windows applications without having a dedicated Windows machine on my desk. What setups do you all use to run Windows-only tools on a Mac? Are there any specific issues I should be aware of?

Have they not given you a Windows machine to work with? That seems a bit odd! If you’re using your own laptop for this, that could raise some security concerns, especially if there are sensitive tools involved. But if you're freelancing, that might explain it a bit.

Yeah, any place that expects you to use your own gear for work should be reconsidered. But if it’s freelance, you might have to make do.
