I'm trying to figure out how to make my Samsung EVO 850 SATA SSD the main boot drive since my current boot drive is an NVMe running Linux. I've tested it in all four SATA ports, and it's recognized in the BIOS under SATA info and as a storage device in my Linux setup. However, whenever I set it up to boot, it doesn't show up in the boot options. Can anyone guide me on how to ensure the Windows drive boots instead of the NVMe?

First off, make sure your BIOS settings are good to go. Depending on whether you’re using Legacy BIOS boot or UEFI boot, it can impact which drives are seen as bootable. If you set things to UEFI, try taking a look at your disk partitions to see if the Samsung is formatted correctly for that. A quick screenshot from Disk Management or a similar tool in Linux could help clarify things!
Yeah, I can help with that! It sounds like you might have a compatibility issue with the Samsung and UEFI. If that's the case, Legacy should work, but you may have to adjust some settings in BIOS to recognize the Samsung properly. Don't forget to share that screenshot when you're back!
