How to Start Building a User-Based App Without Coding Experience?

Hey everyone! I'm interested in creating a user-based app, ideally a dating app, but I'm a total beginner when it comes to programming. I want to focus mostly on iOS, although an Android version would be great too. My goal is to develop a prototype that can actually be used and accessed by others, with a time frame of about 5-6 months. I've looked around, but I could really use some guidance on where to start. Are there any specific programs or resources you'd recommend for someone in my position?

If you’re using an iPad or Mac, check out Swift Playground. It's a fun, interactive way to learn programming basics through puzzles, and it sets you up well for iOS app development using Swift and SwiftUI.

A good way to begin is by sketching out your app’s screens on paper. Think about what kinds of user interactions and inputs you'll need. Map out how users will navigate from one screen to another; this will help you visualize the flow of the app.

First off, is this app just for personal use, or do you want it to go live on the App Store? Building a user-based app can be pretty complex, and you’ll need to understand several different technologies to make it work well.
