I've always been more into console gaming and haven't really touched video games in the last couple of years. I own a PS4 that I rarely use and a Switch which I only play with family and friends. Recently, I've been feeling the urge to get back into gaming, especially sandbox games like Ark and Minecraft, and I know that these play better on PC. I've thought about getting a gaming PC for a while but haven't taken the plunge yet.
To be honest, I'm basically a beginner when it comes to PCs. I only use desktops and laptops for work and struggle with anything technical that isn't laid out in a detailed tutorial. I'm not sure how much a decent gaming PC costs, plus I don't want to cap myself with a low budget but I also can't overspend.
I'd love to know where to start with this whole process. Building my own PC sounds interesting, but I'm just wondering if that's feasible for someone with zero experience. I would appreciate any advice or recommendations you might have!

Hey there! I was in the same boat as you when I started. I had no clue about building a PC but managed to figure it out with YouTube tutorials. It's really not as complicated as it seems! Just make sure to do some research on the parts and don’t hesitate to Google things if you get stuck.
Check out sites like pcpartpicker.com for some great build suggestions! Also, YouTube has loads of how-to videos, like the one from Linus Tech Tips that goes really in-depth. That should help you get a grip on the whole building process.
Start with figuring out what resolution you want to game at. If you're aiming for a top-notch 1440p rig, expect to spend around $1.5 to $2k. For 4k gaming, you might be looking at around $3k. I’d recommend checking out different parts on pcpartpicker.com as well.
Thanks for the tips! I’ve been used to the PS4, so I'm thinking 1080p could work for now. I don't need super high resolution since I wear glasses.
