Hey everyone, I need some help with switching an iOS device's MDM from one Intune tenant to another. We have an Apple Business Manager (ABM) account that's linked to two Intune tenants, and while the devices can be switched between these tenants, I'm running into some issues. We currently have devices enrolled in Tenant A that are fully supervised as corporate-owned. I want to move these devices over to Tenant B without losing data.
I tried retiring a test device from Tenant A, changing the MDM settings in ABM, and then syncing it with Tenant B in Intune, which worked fine to bring the device under Enrollment Program Tokens. However, after performing an iCloud backup, factory resetting the device, and restoring from the iCloud backup, the device still shows as 'Supervised and Managed By…' but doesn't connect to Tenant B's Intune.
While I can manually enroll through the Company Portal, it doesn't retain the supervised status. The only method that does work is setting up the device as new, but that means losing all the data and configurations. It seems like the iCloud backup retains the old MDM enrollment, which could be why the re-enrollment isn't triggered during the setup. Has anyone found a way around this? Previously, we've had to use a non-ABM device for transferring iCloud backups, but since these devices are remaining in ABM, I hope to avoid that hassle. Any advice would be appreciated! Thanks!

I get that this might seem like a simple question, but does Tenant B have a default iOS profile linked to its enrollment token? Also, have you tried waiting a day before wiping the device after assigning profiles in Intune?
I haven’t dealt with this process for a while, but when we tried restoring a backup to a different device, it didn’t keep the old MDM enrollment last time.
Not a stupid question at all! Yes, Tenant B has the default profile attached. I tested restoring it today but had no luck; it’s still the same issue.
