How to Transition from Beginner to Competent in Web Development?

I've been learning web development for about a year now and have a grasp on syntax and basic concepts, but whenever I try to build something from scratch, I feel lost and not very confident. I know that practice is essential, but I think the way I've been practicing might be holding me back. I'm tired of following tutorials and just copying what's on the screen. What can I do to improve my skills and build my confidence?

It’s totally normal to feel lost at times, especially when you’re starting out. The key is pushing through those feelings! Try tackling smaller projects; after a few attempts, you’ll discover that some things will start to click. Each little project adds to your experience and helps make the tougher challenges feel easier later on.
