I've recently been offered the chance to transition into a Microsoft 365 admin role after spending the last decade working as a developer with languages like Python, C#, Java, JavaScript, and Go. I've completed the MS-900 course but I'm struggling to find practical guides or checklists for setting up a Microsoft 365 environment. I have access to a test instance and I'm trying to configure it for a fictional client. Is there a standard playbook or checklist for basic setup and guidance on making certain decisions? I feel like I might be using the wrong terminology in my searches, which isn't helping.

Honestly, switching to an M365 admin role might not be the best move for you. It's often considered an entry-level position, similar to help desk roles. Instead, you might want to consider expanding your skills with Azure administration courses. They cover a lot of relevant aspects of M365 too, like Entra. It's a more strategic career path that aligns better with your experience.

Any recommendations for Azure courses? I have LinkedIn Learning access and would love to know what to check out!
