How to Troubleshoot a GPU with Code 43 Error?

I'm experiencing a frustrating issue with my GTX Titan X (Maxwell) GPU. After reinstalling it into my system using a PCIe Gen 4 riser cable, it's no longer functioning as expected. Initially, the GPU worked fine, but now it displays randomly colored lines of pixels when connected via HDMI. The other output ports seemingly work without showing these artifacts. Windows is reporting the device with an "Error Code 43" in Device Manager, and GPU-Z indicates there's no onboard RAM detected. I suspect the card is failing, but I want to make sure I've tried everything before drawing that conclusion. I've already performed a series of troubleshooting steps, including updating the OS and drivers, testing it in different PCIe slots, and running a fix script without success. Is there anything else I should try? And if it turns out to be a hardware failure, could anyone recommend reliable GPU repair services?

There's a chance this might just be a software glitch. In some cases, Windows incorrectly identifies a hardware failure when the problem is actually a driver issue. I would suggest trying a clean installation of the drivers again. You could also boot into safe mode and try uninstalling the GPU drivers from there. If you're still having no luck, it may indeed indicate a real hardware failure, in which case I’d look into repair services.

It sounds like a classic case of Error 43, which usually points to a hardware issue. However, you've done a thorough job with your troubleshooting. Just to double-check, make sure that the GPU is seated properly in the PCIe slot and that the riser cable isn't faulty. Sometimes, it's the little things that slip our minds. If after all this you're still getting the same error, then it might be time to look into a repair or replacement option.
