How to Troubleshoot Slow File Transfers in a Wired Network?

I'm experiencing slow file transfer speeds between my Mac Mini and an Unraid NAS, both connected via a hub to my router. I'd like to know how I can diagnose the speed issues between each component in my setup. Any suggestions?

First off, make sure you’re not using an old Ethernet hub, as they can really drag down your network speeds. You mentioned using a TpLink TL-SG2206LPF, which is a switch and should be better than a hub. Check the link speed on your Mac Mini and NAS settings; that’ll give you an idea of their connection speeds.

A quick way to check your transfer speeds is to copy a large file between your devices. For gigabit connections, you should see speeds around 100 to 120 MB/sec. If you're not hitting those numbers, you might need to consider upgrading to 2.5, 5, or even 10 gigabit solutions depending on your future needs.
