I'm curious if there's a way to run any Linux distribution, like Ubuntu, as a live system from a USB drive without installing it. I want to set it up so that anything I do won't be saved, meaning every time I reboot or shut down my PC, all changes should be wiped clean. Any suggestions or advice would be really appreciated!

If you want a live USB that resets every time, don't set up with persistence. Just create a basic live USB without it! Most tools will do this by default. You could also fully install a Linux distro on another USB for more permanence if needed, but for pure live sessions, skip the persistence option!
You might want to check out the Debian Live CD or Tails! They're great options for live systems that don’t save any user data. Just remember, Tails is specifically designed for privacy, which is a big win, but if you need something like Ubuntu with pre-installed apps, keep that in mind too!
