How to Use Custom sAMAccountName Attributes for SCIM in Salesforce?

Hey everyone! I've set up a custom attribute in Active Directory and synced it using Entra Connect. The custom sAMAccountName is visible in Graph, so the sync seems to have worked well. However, when I go to edit the mappings in Salesforce, my custom attribute isn't showing up as an option to use. Is there something I'm overlooking in this process? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!

To see your custom attribute in Salesforce, navigate to the enterprise app, then go to provisioning, and select attribute mapping. Choose users or groups based on your needs, click "show advanced" at the bottom, and edit the attribute list for customAppsso. You need to configure your attribute here before it will show up when you edit the attributes.

Thanks for that tip! I thought that list was just for Salesforce attributes. So, my custom attribute is named extension__samaccountname—what specifically needs to be added there?

Quick question: Can custom attributes be utilized with gallery apps in the enterprise app?

Have you considered using the default sAMAccountName attribute? It might save you some hassle.

Unfortunately, that option isn't available for SCIM user provisioning.
